Overview
The highest point: where the individual path becomes visible to everyone.
The Midheaven is the degree culminating overhead at birth — the summit of the chart, and the symbol of what a life aims at in the eyes of the world.
Mythology
The name translates the Greek Mesouranema, 'the middle of the sky': the point where the Sun culminates at local noon, blazing and unhidden. In the Hellenistic order of the angles it was the place of action, honour and rank — what a person does in the city, before every eye. Noon has always been the hour of full disclosure: nothing casts a shorter shadow. Where the horizon angles speak of meeting, the meridian speaks of standing: at the top of its arc, a life is measured by what it has managed to raise.
Interpretation
The Midheaven (Medium Coeli) is the highest point of the ecliptic at the moment of birth. It represents vocation, public reputation and the role one plays in society: the direction of ambition rather than its outcome. Its sign describes the style of achievement — how authority is exercised and recognition pursued — and planets close to it stand in the chart's spotlight. The MC is what the world sees when it looks at us from the outside: our professional identity, our standing, and the legacy we aim to leave.
