How to read it

Retrograde periods are highlighted, and the number inside each one is its length in days. The rhythm of every planet is easy to see: Mercury turns back three times a year, Venus every eighteen months, Mars only every two years — in some years not at all — and from Jupiter outward, once a year for months at a time.
