Lilith

Not a body but a point of pure geometry: the place where the Moon is farthest from the Earth.

Black Moon Lilith is the lunar apogee — the far, slow extreme of the Moon's orbit. There astrology locates what has been pushed away: raw instinct, refused compromise, untamed desire.

Lilith enters written tradition in Mesopotamia, among the night demons (lilītu) of Babylonian incantations, and takes her defining form in Jewish legend: in the medieval Alphabet of Ben Sira she is Adam's first wife, created from the same earth, who refused to submit, pronounced the unspeakable Name and flew from Eden rather than obey. Exiled and demonized, she became the emblem of everything the ordered world casts out. Modern astrology adopted her name for the Black Moon precisely for this resonance: a presence defined by refusal and distance.

Black Moon Lilith is the point in the Moon's orbit farthest from Earth — the lunar apogee. It symbolizes what has been rejected, suppressed, or denied: raw instinct, undomesticated desire, the part of the self that refuses to be tamed. Its sign and house show where compromise feels like betrayal — where one would rather be exiled than diminished. Difficult to live with but impossible to remove, Lilith marks the claim to autonomy at its most absolute: the point where negotiation ends and the price of integrity is accepted.
